We are looking to fill 5 volunteering spots for our Grand Prix 2nd Round Music Competition! All volunteers will receive 4 volunteer hours certificates!

🎟️ Front-of-House Volunteers (2 people)

Time Commitment: 1:15 PM – 2:30 PM (can watch concert afterward)
Responsibilities:

  • Greet audience members at the main entrance with a warm, professional welcome.
  • Distribute printed concert programs.
  • Answer general questions about seating or parking.
  • Direct performers to the check-in area
  • Assist with maintaining a quiet atmosphere once the concert begins.
  • Manage any late arrivals discreetly and help them find seats during applause only.

Dress Code: Smart casual or black concert attire preferred.

🎤 Performer Management Volunteers (1 person)

Time Commitment: 1:15 PM – 3:45 PM
Responsibilities:

  • Welcome performers at check-in and confirm names.
  • Confirm that each performer’s original score is placed on the adjudicator’s table or collected if required.
  • Seat performers in the front row in performance order.
  • Maintain order and quiet in the front row.
  • Cue each performer to walk on stage at the appropriate time.
  • Calm nervous students and gently encourage younger performers.
  • Ensure performers return to sit with their families after they perform.

Note: Please be familiar with the concert order and work closely with stage assistant and adjudicator timing.

🗂️ Stage Assistant (1 person)

Time Commitment: 1:30 PM – 3:45 PM
Responsibilities:

  • Help prepare the stage for each performer (adjust bench height, place pedal extender if needed).
  • Ensure smooth, quiet transitions between performers.
  • Assist with resetting the stage if needed between pieces.

Note: Coordinate with Performer Managers to ensure flow remains uninterrupted.

🎖 Award Ceremony Volunteers (1 person)

Time Commitment: 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Organize award materials (certificates, medals, trophies) by performance group and category.
  • Help cue groups of students for onstage recognition during the ceremony.
  • Hand items to presenters or directly to recipients.
  • Assist with photos and guide students off stage smoothly.

Note: Must work quickly and precisely to keep the ceremony on schedule.

âś… Minimum Age for Volunteers:

Minimum Recommended Age: 16 years old

Why?

  • At 16, volunteers are generally mature enough to:
    • Follow instructions independently
    • Interact professionally with families and performers
    • Handle light responsibilities (ushering, distributing programs, etc.)

  1. Parental Consent is Provided

  2. Duties Are Age-Appropriate
    Suitable roles include:
    • Handing out programs
    • Guiding guests to their seats
